Crimea

2/21/22

I kept hearing the country; Crimea. I asked the Lord, “Why are you speaking about Crimea. He said, “Crimea is crying”. I asked, “Lord, what do you want me to know about Crimea and how can I pray for this nation. Pray that I would look favorably upon them. He said, “tell them to look up”. Look at the signs in the sky. Landing strip. Crimean is being used as a critical place to take over other nations and they feel helpless. But they can do something. They feel small and backed into a corner on every side. But they remind me of the rudder of a ship. The rudder is the smallest part but it directs the entire giant ship. I felt God was giving me this word over the nation of Crimea, that they will not be used for a passage of war but as a passage of peace. Where they feel they have their hands tied the Lord is already preparing their victory.

They may feel like, “ how can I help another country when we have already been over taken. I get the sense that they have never given up hope of having freedom and independence in their country. Even after the annexation in 2014 they still have been standing and believing for the promises of God that their country would again taste independence and freedom. In a time where things look dark, I feel like God is going to move in mighty and unexpected ways. As I pray and lean into the voice of God for the nation of Crimea I am reminded of Gideon and his army of 300 men.

Judges 6:12-19

When the angel of the LORD appeared to Gideon, he said, “The LORD is with you, mighty warrior.””But sir,” Gideon replied, “if the LORD is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all his wonders that our fathers told us about when they said, `Did not the LORD bring us up out of Egypt?’ But now the LORD has abandoned. The LORD turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?””But Lord, [1] ” Gideon asked, “how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family.”The LORD answered, “I will be with you, and you will strike down all the Midianites together.” Gideon replied, “If now I have found favor in your eyes, give me a sign that it is really you talking to me.

Even though Gideon felt like he and his people had all the odds stacked against them, being small in number and the weakest in his clan, the Lord promised that they would have the victory. I feel this same confidence over the nation of Crimea. But I do feel that this nation is at a crossroads and they do have a choice as to what they can or will do. This is a critical moment and I believe God is prompting them to take a leap of faith.
